Paste a list, get a sheet
Type or paste one name per line and the generator fills the sheet in order. For a family of twelve, that is one sheet and about thirty seconds of typing, which compares well with handwriting twelve tags.
If you need multiples for one person, put the name on several lines or use the repeat control. For a hamper of small gifts all for the same person, twenty-four small tags with the same name is one click.
Frames and type
Four frames: a plain rule, a double rule, a bracketed corner style and a single sprig at the top. Three typefaces: a serif, a geometric sans and a script. The script is the one to use on a plain frame and the one to avoid on the bracketed corners, where it gets crowded.
Long names are shrunk to fit rather than wrapped, down to a floor of 9pt. Anything that would go below that is reported so you can shorten it rather than ending up with a tag nobody can read.
Nothing is uploaded
The names you type stay in the page and the PDF is built on your own device. Nothing is stored, logged or sent to a server, which is the reason this works as a browser tool rather than a form that emails you a file.
Questions
- Can I type names onto Christmas gift tags?
- Yes. Type or paste one name per line and each tag prints with a name set in type. Twelve tags per sheet, with a repeat option if you need several for the same person.
- Are the names I type sent anywhere?
- No. Everything is composed in your browser and the PDF is generated on your own device. No names are uploaded, stored or logged.
- What happens to a very long name?
- It is shrunk to fit down to a floor of 9pt. If a name would go below that, the tool tells you so you can shorten it rather than printing something unreadable.
- Which font and frame go together?
- The script face works best on a plain or double rule. On the bracketed corner frame it gets crowded, so use the serif or the geometric sans there.
