Licence and Terms of Use

Short version: print as much as you like for yourself, your family, your class, your group or your charity event. Do not sell the sheets, do not upload the files elsewhere, and do not pass them off as your own. The longer version below says the same thing with the edges defined.

What you can do

  • Print any sheet as many times as you want, at home or at work.
  • Use the sheets in a school, nursery, childminding setting, library, church, hospital, care home, scout or guide group or youth club.
  • Hand printed sheets to the children, residents or members you work with, and to their families.
  • Use a printed sheet at a charity or fundraising event, including one where tickets are sold.
  • Modify a printed sheet by writing, drawing or cutting it. The results are yours.

What you cannot do

  • Sell the sheets, individually or as a pack, printed or digital.
  • Upload the PDF files to another website, a file sharing service, a marketplace or a teaching resources platform, free or paid.
  • Include the artwork in a product you sell, including print on demand items, stationery or a book.
  • Present the sheets as your own work, or remove or obscure the site name where it appears.
  • Use automated tools to bulk generate and redistribute files.

The grey areas, answered

A paid-for school or nursery is fine. The restriction is on selling the sheets themselves, not on using them in a setting that charges fees. A childminder printing colouring pages for the children in their care is using them, not reselling them.

A craft fair is fine if you are selling something you made using a template, for example a felt stocking cut using the stocking pattern. It is not fine to sell printed copies of the sheet itself.

A business printing gift tags for its own customer orders is fine. A business printing gift tags to sell as a product is not.

Attribution and the artwork

No attribution is required. If you want to credit the site, christmasu.com is enough.

All artwork is drawn for this site. There are no licensed characters, no stock images and no third party clip art in any sheet, which is why the licence above can be as permissive as it is. jsPDF, used to build the PDF files in your browser, is included under the MIT licence.

Questions

Can I use these printables in my classroom?
Yes. Schools, nurseries, childminders, libraries, churches, hospitals, care homes and youth groups can all print unlimited copies at no cost, including settings that charge fees.
Can I sell the printables?
No. You cannot sell the sheets printed or digitally, include the artwork in a product you sell, or upload the files to another site or a teaching resources marketplace.
Can I sell something I made using a template?
Yes. If you cut a felt stocking using the stocking pattern, the stocking is yours to sell. What you cannot sell is a copy of the template or the printed sheet itself.
Do I need to credit the site?
No attribution is required. If you would like to credit it, christmasu.com is enough.
Are there any licensed characters in the artwork?
No. Every drawing is original to this site, with no licensed characters, stock images or third party clip art, which is what allows the licence to be this permissive.
