Make itWhat is in the collection
- Number work: addition and subtraction sums inside festive frames, times tables as a column of sums or a blank twelve by twelve square, and counting boxes where a child writes how many.
- Early years: a mixed preschool page and a mixed kindergarten page, each with four short tasks rather than one long one.
- Letters and writing: dotted words to trace on handwriting guidelines, modelled words and sentences to copy, and story prompts with ruled lines underneath.
- Scissors and glue: pieces to cut from the foot of the sheet and stick into labelled boxes, and two columns to join with a pencil line.
- Looking and counting: an I spy field with a key down the side, and a mixed activity pack that pulls several tasks onto one sheet.
- Reading: a Christmas around the world sheet with three facts and a question for each country.
A new sheet every time
None of these are a fixed PDF. The sums, the words, the pictures and the order are drawn fresh on every visit, so a child who finishes one sheet can have a different one a minute later without working through the same twelve questions again.
That also means two children at the same table can have different sheets. Open the page, print, press Regenerate, print again. The layout and the difficulty stay where you set them.
Answers where answers help
Nine of the thirteen carry an answer sheet, marked in red on a second page: the two number sheets, preschool, kindergarten, counting, matching, cut and paste, I spy and around the world. The control above the paper switches it off when you only want the sheet itself, which halves the paper for a class set.
Red marking is readable in greyscale, but it is lighter than the black line work. If you are printing answer sheets in black and white, check one page before running thirty.
Printing a set for a class
Set scaling to 100 percent or Actual Size rather than Fit to Page. Fit to Page shrinks every sheet by a few millimetres, which is invisible on one copy and obvious when thirty are stacked together.
Plain 80gsm copier paper is right for pencil work. The cut and paste sheet holds up better on 120gsm, because thin paper tears at the corners when a five year old cuts round a square.
Questions
- Are these Christmas worksheets free to print?
- Yes. Every sheet in the collection is free to print and free to save as a PDF, with no account to create and no watermark across the work. Classroom and nursery use is allowed with no limit on copies.
- Which worksheets suit a four year old?
- Start with the preschool page, the counting boxes and the tracing sheet. All three use large pictures, short instructions and one task at a time, and none of them need reading beyond a single line.
- Do the worksheets come with answers?
- Nine of the thirteen do: maths, multiplication, preschool, kindergarten, counting, matching, cut and paste, I spy and around the world each put a marked answer sheet on the second page. Tracing, handwriting, writing prompts and the activity pack have nothing to mark, so they print without one.
- Can I get a different sheet with the same settings?
- Yes. Press Regenerate above the paper and the questions, words and pictures are redrawn while the difficulty, the number of boxes and the paper size stay exactly as you left them.
- Will the worksheets print on US Letter?
- Yes. Every sheet has an A4 and a US Letter setting, and the margins and the grid are recalculated for the size you pick rather than the page being cropped or scaled down.
