Printable Christmas Activities

A mixed sheet rather than a page of one thing. At the younger setting each page carries two counting boxes, a word to trace, three pairs to join with a line and a large box with a drawing instruction. Two sheets by default, each one drawn on its own.

Two age settings

At 3 to 6 the page is counting, tracing, matching and drawing, with the instructions kept to one short line each. Nothing on it needs a child to read more than a few words, and an adult reading the four instructions aloud sets the whole sheet going.

At 7 and up the content changes rather than growing. The counting box becomes a row of sums, the drawing box keeps a prompt but the prompts get harder, and tasks appear that need a sentence rather than a number. One asks a child to write a thank you letter for a present they did not want without telling a lie, which is a better piece of work than it sounds.

One to four sheets

The Sheets control prints one, two, three or four pages in a single download, each page drawn on its own so the pictures, the words and the counts change from one to the next. Four pages is a quiet afternoon or a travel pack. One is something to hand a child while the oven is on.

The drawing prompt at the foot of each page is picked at random, so in a four page pack one of them can come up twice. Press Regenerate and the whole pack is redrawn.

What it is good for

A party table where the ages are mixed, the last week of term when the timetable has gone, a long car journey, a restaurant wait. The sheet is self contained, needs nothing but a pencil, and has a drawing box at the end so a child who finishes early is not left with nothing.

For a group, print at 100 percent scaling rather than Fit to Page so every copy comes out at the same size, and hand out pencils rather than pens. The drawing box is the part that gets coloured in, and felt tips go through 80gsm paper.

Questions

What is on a printable Christmas activity sheet?
At the 3 to 6 setting each page has two counting boxes, a word to trace on handwriting lines, three pairs of pictures to join and a large box with a drawing instruction. The 7 and up setting swaps in sums and writing tasks.
How many sheets do I get?
Two by default. The Sheets control above the paper prints one, two, three or four in a single PDF, and each page is drawn on its own, so the pictures, the words and the counts change from page to page.
Are these Christmas activities free?
Yes. Every sheet is free to print and free to download, with no account and no watermark, and you can print as many copies as a class or a party needs.
Is there an answer sheet?
No. The pack prints the activity pages only, because the drawing and writing tasks on them have no single right answer. The counting and matching worksheets have their own marked answer sheets.
