Christmas Worksheets for Preschool

One sheet with four short tasks on it rather than twenty of the same thing. Count a row of pictures and circle the right number, circle the bigger picture in each pair, trace four dotted shapes, then draw a line between the two pictures that match. Large drawings, one line of instruction each.

Four tasks, each one short

A three or four year old works in short bursts, so the page is built as four small jobs with a clear finish rather than one long exercise. Counting comes first with a row of identical pictures and three numbered circles underneath, only one of which is right. Then two pairs of the same object drawn at different sizes, with the bigger one to be circled.

The third task is four shapes printed as dashed outlines, drawn from a small bank that takes in a square, a triangle, a circle, a diamond and a star, to be traced with a finger first and then a pencil. The fourth is three pictures down the left and the same three scrambled down the right, with a dot beside each one to join.

Easier and harder

The Level control changes how much the page asks for. Easier keeps the counts low, the size difference in each pair obvious and the shapes simple. Harder raises the counting range and makes the other three tasks less obvious, which is closer to what a child does in the term before school.

Everything else stays where it is. The four tasks and their order do not change, so a child who has done the sheet once knows what the page wants without it being read to them again.

The marked copy

The second page is the same sheet with the answers marked in red: the right number circled, the bigger picture ringed and the matching lines drawn across. It is there for whoever is sitting with the child rather than for the child.

Set Answer sheet to Sheet only if you are printing a stack for a nursery session and do not want half the pile to be keys.

Questions

What age are these preschool Christmas worksheets for?
Roughly three to five. The tasks need no reading beyond one short line of instruction, which an adult usually says out loud, and the drawings are large enough for a child still using a fist grip on a pencil.
How many activities are on one sheet?
Four: counting and circling a number, picking the bigger picture in two pairs, tracing four dashed shapes, and joining three pairs of matching pictures with a line. They all fit on a single page.
Is there an answer sheet?
Yes, a second page with the correct number circled, the bigger pictures ringed and the matching lines drawn in red. The control above the paper switches it off when you want the worksheet on its own.
Will I get the same sheet twice?
No. The pictures, the counts and the order of the matching column are redrawn every time the page loads or Regenerate is pressed, so the same four tasks come back with different content.
