Sixteen multiplication questions in festive frames, two across and eight down, or a blank twelve by twelve times square to fill in. Pick one table or let the sheet mix them, then print it with or without the marked answer page.
One table or all of them
The Table control lists Mixed and then every table from two to twelve. Choosing a single table gives sixteen questions drawn only from it, which is what a child needs while they are still learning it. Mixed pulls from the whole range up to twelve times twelve and is the sheet to use once the tables are known and recall speed is the thing being practised.
Both numbers in a question can be the larger one, so you get nine times four as well as four times nine. That matters more than it sounds: children who learn a table in one direction often stall when the question is turned round.
The times square
The Format control switches from Sums to Times square, which prints an empty twelve by twelve grid with the numbers along the top and down the side and nothing in the middle. Filling it is a different exercise from answering sixteen separate questions, and it shows up the gaps in a child's recall faster than a question sheet does.
The square prints with an answer sheet of its own, so the completed grid can be checked against a filled copy rather than against a table book.
Marking a set quickly
Every question carries a number in the corner of its frame, and the answer sheet repeats the same numbering with the answers written in red. Marking thirty sheets against one key is a matter of running down the column rather than recalculating.
If you want the sheets only, set Answer sheet to Sheet only. That halves the paper and avoids a stack where every second page is a key a child should not see.
Questions
- How many multiplication questions are on the sheet?
- Sixteen in the Sums format, laid out two across and eight down with a Christmas drawing in each frame. The Times square format replaces them with one blank twelve by twelve grid instead.
- Can I print a single times table?
- Yes. The Table control above the paper lists every table from two to twelve alongside Mixed. Choosing one keeps all sixteen questions inside that table while still varying which way round each one is written.
- Does the multiplication worksheet come with answers?
- Yes. A second page repeats the sheet with every answer filled in and marked in red. The control above the paper turns it off when you want the worksheet on its own.
- What is the times square option for?
- It prints an empty twelve by twelve multiplication grid with headings on both axes. A child fills in the whole grid, which tests recall across all the tables at once rather than sampling sixteen questions from them.
- Are the questions different each time?
- Yes. The set is redrawn on every page load and every press of Regenerate, so one table can be practised over several days without the same sixteen questions coming back.
