Christmas Trivia

Thirty questions numbered straight through, with a ruled line under each one to write the answer on. There are no round headings and no topic labels, so a team works down the page without stopping. The questions run across two sheets and the answers follow on two more, each answer printed beside the question it belongs to.

Trivia, not a quiz night

The quiz pages on this site break the questions into rounds with headings, which is what a quiz night wants. This sheet does the opposite: topics are interleaved, nothing is labelled, and the run reads as one continuous set of thirty.

That suits a table at a meal, a staff room, a waiting room or anywhere somebody wants to hand a sheet over without explaining a format. Consecutive questions jump from a carol to a biscuit to a date in the calendar with no warning, which is the point.

Difficulty and subject matter

The spread is wide on purpose. The bank holds questions as easy as what the day before Christmas Day is called alongside ones as hard as which country is credited with starting the decorated tree tradition, or which Christmas song was the first broadcast from space.

Food, carols, history, language and traditions from several countries all appear, so a team with one keen cook and one keen singer does better than a team of specialists in one thing.

Settings worth changing

The questions control runs from ten to sixty, and thirty is where this page opens. Ten fits on a single sheet for a short round; sixty is an evening. The theme list narrows the questions to one subject if you would rather have a food round or a carols round.

The answer sheet control switches between Include and Questions only. Printing the questions alone gives a two page PDF to photocopy for teams, with the answers kept on screen or printed once for whoever is marking.

Questions

How many Christmas trivia questions are on the sheet?
Thirty as it opens, printed across two pages with a writing line under each question. The control above the sheet runs from ten to sixty if you want a shorter or a longer set.
Are the answers included?
Yes. The answers print on their own sheets after the questions, with each answer set beside the question it belongs to. Switch the control to Questions only and the download is the two question pages alone.
How is this different from the printable Christmas quiz?
The quiz splits its questions into labelled rounds. This sheet is one flat numbered run of thirty with no headings and the topics mixed together, which suits handing a sheet to a table without explaining it.
Can I get a different set of questions?
Yes. Press Shuffle above the sheet and thirty are drawn again from the bank. The theme list also narrows them to one subject, such as food and drink, carols and songs or history and origins.
