The plainest sheet in the set. A heading reading Christmas List, a name field, a date field, then a single numbered column of ruled lines running down the page. No table, no second column and nothing to decide before you start writing.
When a column beats a table
Columns for sizes and shops are useful when somebody else is doing the buying. They are in the way when the list is for you, when it is a list of things to do rather than things to own, or when a child is writing it and needs the whole width of the line.
This sheet gives twenty numbered lines as it opens, with sixteen and twenty four also on the control above the page. Sixteen spaces the lines furthest apart, which suits large handwriting or a felt tip.
What people use it for
- A straight gift list to hand to one person, with no columns to fill in.
- A things to do list for the week before, where every line is an errand.
- A list of who still needs a card, a tip or a thank you.
- A stock check of what is already in the cupboard before the big shop.
Printing
The rules are hairlines, so this sheet uses less ink than almost anything else on the site and prints acceptably in draft mode. Set scaling to 100 percent or Actual Size rather than Fit to Page so the bottom line keeps its margin.
A4 and US Letter are both on the paper control, and the line spacing is recalculated for each rather than squashed, so twenty lines on Letter are the same height as twenty on A4.
Questions
- How many lines are on the printable Christmas list?
- Twenty as it opens, with sixteen and twenty four on the control above the sheet. Sixteen leaves the most room between lines and twenty four fits the longest list onto a single page.
- Is there anywhere to write sizes or shops?
- Not on this sheet, which is a single column by design. The Christmas list template has a narrow second column headed size, colour, where to find it for exactly that.
- Can I use it for something other than presents?
- Yes. It is numbered ruled lines under a heading, so it works as a jobs list for the week before, a card list, a shopping reminder or a stock check of the cupboard.
- Does it print free with no watermark?
- Yes. The sheet downloads and prints free, carries no watermark and needs no account. The only mark on the page is a small grey christmasu.com at the foot.
