Christmas Bauble Colouring Pages

Eight bauble designs: plain spheres, striped, chevron, snowflake-patterned, holly-patterned, teardrop, finial and a hanging cluster. Print six small ones to a page for a class set, or one large one for a sheet that becomes a door decoration.

Colour, cut, hang

These are the colouring sheets most likely to end up as an actual decoration. Each bauble has a closed outer outline and a top loop, so it cuts out in one pass with no fiddly inner edges. Punch the loop, thread string through and it hangs.

Print on 160gsm card if you want them to last on a tree. On copier paper they curl within a day in a warm room, which is fine for a classroom window but not for anything you want to keep.

Plain versus patterned

Three of the designs are plain spheres with only a cap and a loop. Those are for children who want to invent their own pattern, and for anyone making a name bauble, because there is room to write across the middle.

The patterned designs give small repeating areas, which is useful if you want a sheet that takes a while. The snowflake bauble is the most detailed and works well with metallic pens over a dark pencil base.

Six to a page for a group

The six per page layout fits a class of thirty onto five sheets. Each child colours one, cuts it out and adds it to a paper tree on the wall, which takes about twenty minutes end to end and uses almost no ink.

Questions

Can these baubles be cut out and hung on a tree?
Yes. Each design has a single closed outline and a top loop for string. Print on 160gsm card so they hold their shape and do not curl in a warm room.
How many baubles fit on one sheet?
One, two, four or six, depending on the layout you choose. Six to a page is the usual choice for a class set.
Is there a plain bauble with space to write a name?
Yes. Three of the eight designs are plain spheres with a cap and loop only, leaving the whole middle free for a name or a message.
Do I need card, or is paper fine?
Paper is fine for a wall display or a window. For a decoration that gets handled or hung on a tree, 160gsm card is much better.
