Santa Colouring Pages

Eight Santa drawings in one generator: a head and hat outline for the youngest children, a full standing figure, Santa with his sack, a sleigh loaded for the night and a chimney scene with enough brickwork to keep an older child busy. Set the outline weight to match the pens being used and print.

Which Santa to pick

The head and hat design is the one to start with for a two or three year old. It is mostly large curved shapes, there are only five regions to fill and the beard gives an easy white area that needs nothing doing to it, which children find satisfying.

The standing figure and the sack designs sit in the middle: enough separate pieces to need some planning, not so many that a child loses interest. The sleigh and chimney scenes are the ones to hand an eight year old or an adult, because the detail is in the harness, the brick courses and the parcels.

Getting the red right

Santa is almost entirely one colour, which makes the sheet a good exercise in covering a large area evenly. A single red pencil pressed hard gives a patchy finish. Two passes at light pressure, the second at right angles to the first, gives a flat block of colour that looks far better.

If you are using markers, print on 120gsm paper. Large red areas are exactly where felt tip ink soaks through and marks whatever is underneath.

Using these as something other than a colouring sheet

Printed on 160gsm card with the heaviest outline, the head and hat design cuts out cleanly and works as a gift tag, a place card topper or a bauble for a paper tree. The sleigh design at A3 makes a reasonable classroom display piece once a group has coloured sections of it separately.

Questions

How many Santa colouring pages are there?
Eight separate designs: head and hat, standing figure, Santa with a sack, Santa in a chair, sleigh, chimney scene, Santa with a list, and Santa with a reindeer. Each one can be printed at any line weight.
Are the Santa colouring pages free to print?
Yes, all eight are free, with no account and no watermark. You can print them as often as you like at home, in a classroom or in a group setting.
Which design is best for a toddler?
The head and hat design with the line weight set to heavy. It has five large regions and no narrow gaps, so a crayon held in a fist still produces a result the child is pleased with.
Can I print more than one Santa on a page?
Yes. The layout control places one, two or four copies of the design on a single sheet. Four to a page is useful for gift tags and for party tables where each child gets a small sheet.
